I am originally from Atlanta, Georgia. I have a bachelor's degree in Neuroscience from Pomona College, and I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in Ecology at Utah State University, advised by Dr. Sara Freeman.
I have always loved animals and wondered about their inner worlds. I first became excited about studying the evolution and ecology of animal behavior after reading Our Inner Ape, a book by primatologist Frans de Waal that considers human behavior in an evolutionary context. Since then, I have pursued research opportunities studying animal behavior and have gained experience working with species ranging from scrub jays to macaques to coyotes.
In my free time, I love traveling, hiking, and exploring nature, as well as trying new foods, attending concerts, and relaxing at home with my cat, Theo. I also enjoy making art, gardening, and boxing at my local gym.
